science and art: climate listening at wordfest

Wordfest: Earth, People, and Words

Bringing Science and Art Together in One Conversation

Details: http://avlWordfest.com

I’m honored to be filming poets, writers, and artists from around the world at Wordfest.

I’ll also be hosting a Climate Listening Project discussion on Sunday, April 15 at the event.

Event speakers I’m listening to include Alastair McIntosh and Norman Bissell from Scotland. Alastair signed a copy of his book “Hell and High Water: Climate Change, Hope, and the Human Condition” as a gift for me after our session, he wrote:

“Dayna, thank you for holding the hope that waits within the despair.”

I’m grateful to continue listening and filming poets, writers, dancers and artists Joy Harjo, Sean Hill, Elizabeth Bradfield, and Cara Hagan over the next few days for a Climate Listening Project film! Klein Digital will be adding a bit of editing magic to this one – stay tuned!

Don’t miss Wordfest! I hope to see you Sunday for a Climate Listening Project session with Movies & Meaning Experience hosts Jasmin Pittman Morrell and Garreth Higgins – join us at 11am at Lenoir-Rhyne University Asheville!

Thanks so much to Laura Hope-Gill for curating this unique Wordfest event bringing people together to honor and share in the power of words and art for hope and change.
