#peoplesclimate march and un #climate2014 summit
People are joining together for the People’s Climate March in New York City and around the globe on September 21, 2014 as international leaders come together for the United Nations Climate Summit.
Over 1,500 (!) businesses, unions, faith groups, schools, social justice groups, environmental groups and more, all working together for the March.
The UN Climate Summit will be about action and solutions that are focused on accelerating progress in areas that can significantly contribute to reducing emissions and strengthening resilience – such as agriculture, cities, energy, financing, forests, pollutants, resilience and transportation.
We’ve been listening to the people of Western North Carolina, from sportsmen to farmers, musicians, community leaders, and scientists, and have been gathering local stories about climate disruption impacts and resilience. Check it out via the Climate Listening Project.
